HIMNO: Ah, Holy Jesus!

Ah, holy Jesus, how hast Thou offended,
that we to judge Thee have in hate pretended?
By foes derided, by Thine own rejected,
O most afflicted!

Who was the guilty?
Who brought this upon Thee?
Alas, my treason, Jesus, hath undone thee!
'Twas I, Lord Jesus, I it was denied thee;
I crucified thee.

Lo, the Good Shepherd for the sheep is offered;
the slave hath sinned, and the Son hath suffered.
For our atonement, while we nothing heeded,
God interceded.

•••

Hebreos 4:14, 16

Confesemos humildemente nuestros pecados a Dios todopoderoso.

Dios de misericordia,
confesamos que hemos pecado contra ti
por pensamiento, palabra y obra,
por lo que hemos hecho
y lo que hemos dejado de hacer.
No te hemos amado con todo el corazón;
no hemos amado a nuestro prójimo como a nosotros mismos.
Sincera y humildemente nos arrepentimos.
Por amor de tu Hijo Jesucristo,
ten piedad de nosotros y perdónanos;

Lord, have mercy upon us.
Christ, have mercy upon us.
Lord have mercy upon us.

El Señor sea con vosotros.
Y con tu espíritu.

Oremos.

Bless the Lord who forgiveth all our sins.
God’s mercy endureth for ever.

Hear what our Lord Jesus saith:

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.
Matthew 22:37-40

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us; but if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:8,9

Seeing that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:14,16

Let us confess our sins unto Almighty God.

Most merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against thee
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done,
and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved thee with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we earnestly repent.
For the sake of thy Son Jesus Christ,
have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in thy will,
and walk in thy ways,
to the glory of thy Name.

Amen.

The Almighty and merciful Lord grant us absolution and remission of all our sins, true repentance, amendment of life, and the grace and consolation of his Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Lord, have mercy upon us.
Christ, have mercy upon us.
Lord have mercy upon us.

The Lord be with you.
And with thy spirit.

Let us pray

Almighty Father, whose dear Son, on the night before he suffered, instituted the Sacrament of his Body and Blood: Mercifully grant that we may receive it thankfully in remembrance of Jesus Christ our Lord, who in these holy mysteries gives us a pledge of eternal life; and who now lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Amen.

Liturgia de la Palabra

LA PRIMERA LECTURA
1 Corintios 11:23 - 32

Demos gracias a Dios.

EL SALMO
Salmo 78: 14-20, 23-25

 Vituperaron a Dios y dijeron: *

HIMNO:
Jesu, Jesu, Fill Us With Your Love

Jesu, Jesu, fill us with your love,
show us how to serve
the neighbors we have from you.

Kneels at the feet of his friends,
Silently washes their feet,
Master who pours out himself for them.

Jesu, Jesu, fill us with your love,
show us how to serve
the neighbors we have from you.

Neighbors are wealthy and poor,
Neighbors are black and white,
Neighbors are nearby and far away.

Jesu, Jesu, fill us with your love,
show us how to serve
the neighbors we have from you.

These are the ones we should serve,
These are the ones we should love:
All these are neighbors to us and you.

Jesu, Jesu, fill us with your love,
show us how to serve
the neighbors we have from you.

Kneel at the feet of our friends,
Silently washing their feet:
This is the way we should live with you.

Jesu, Jesu, fill us with your love,
show us how to serve

LA LECTURA DEL EVANGELIO
Juan 13:1-17, 31b-35

El Santo Evangelio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo según San Juan.
Gloria a ti, O Señor.

Liturgy of the Word

THE FIRST READING
I Corinthians 11:23-32

For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, ‘This is my body that is for* you. Do this in remembrance of me.’ In the same way he took the cup also, after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.’ For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be answerable for the body and blood of the Lord. Examine yourselves, and only then eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For all who eat and drink* without discerning the body,* eat and drink judgment against themselves.

For this reason many of you are weak and ill, and some have died.* But if we judged ourselves, we would not be judged. But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined* so that we may not be condemned along with the world.

The Word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God.

THE PSALM
Psalm 78: 14-20, 23-25

He led them with a cloud by day, *
and all the night through with a glow of fire.

He split the hard rocks in the wilderness *
and gave them drink as from the great deep.

He brought streams out of the cliff, *
and the waters gushed out like rivers.

But they went on sinning against him, *
rebelling in the desert against the Most High.

They tested God in their hearts, *
demanding food for their craving.

They railed against God and said, *
"Can God set a table in the wilderness?

True, he struck the rock, the waters gushed out, and the gullies overflowed; *
but is he able to give bread
or to provide meat for his people?"

So he commanded the clouds above *
and opened the doors of heaven.

He rained down manna upon them to eat *
and gave them grain from heaven.

So mortals ate the bread of angels; *
he provided for them food enough.

THE GOSPEL READING
John 13:1-17, 31b-35

The Holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to John.
Glory be to thee, O Lord.

Now before the festival of the Passover, Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart from this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. The devil had already put it into the heart of Judas son of Simon Iscariot to betray him. And during supper Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going to God, got up from the table, took off his outer robe, and tied a towel around himself. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel that was tied around him. He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, "Lord, are you going to wash my feet?" Jesus answered, "You do not know now what I am doing, but later you will understand." Peter said to him, "You will never wash my feet." Jesus answered, "Unless I wash you, you have no share with me." Simon Peter said to him, "Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!" Jesus said to him, "One who has bathed does not need to wash, except for the feet, but is entirely clean. And you are clean, though not all of you." For he knew who was to betray him; for this reason he said, "Not all of you are clean."

After he had washed their feet, had put on his robe, and had returned to the table, he said to them, "Do you know what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord--and you are right, for that is what I am. So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have set you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you. Very truly, I tell you, servants are not greater than their master, nor are messengers greater than the one who sent them. If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them.

Jesus said, "Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in him. If God has been glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself and will glorify him at once. Little children, I am with you only a little longer. You will look for me; and as I said to the Jews so now I say to you, `Where I am going, you cannot come.' I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."

The Gospel of the Lord.
Praise be to thee, O Christ.

THE HOMILY

The Foot Washing

Fellow servants of our Lord Jesus Christ: On the night before his death, Jesus set an example for his disciples by washing their feet, an act of humble service. He taught that strength and growth in the life of the Kingdom of God come not by power, authority, or even miracle, but by such lowly service. We all need to remember his example, but none stand more in need of this reminder than those whom the Lord has called to the ordained ministry.

Therefore, I invite you who share in the Holy Orders of the Church, to come forward, that we may recall whose servants we are by following the example of our Master. But come remembering his admonition that what will be done for you is also to be done by you to others, for “a servant is not greater than his master, nor is one who is sent greater than the one who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.”

•••

THE RESPONSES

The Lord Jesus, after he had supped with his disciples and had washed their feet, said to them, "Do you know what I, your Lord and Master, have done to you? I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done."

Peace is my last gift to you, my own peace I now leave with you; peace which the world cannot give, I give to you.

I give you a new commandment: Love one another as I have loved you.

Peace is my last gift to you, my own peace I now leave with you; peace which the world cannot give, I give to you.

By this shall the world know that you are my disciples: That you have love for one another.

•••

THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE

Beloved, bid your intercessions.

A few moments of silence.

Hasten, O Father, the coming of thy kingdom; and grant that we thy servants, who now live by faith, may with joy behold thy Son at his coming in glorious majesty; even Jesus Christ, our only Mediator and Advocate.

Amen.

•••

THE PEACE

The peace of the Lord be always with you.
And with thy spirit.

LA GRAN PLEGARIA EUCARISTÍA

El Señor sea con vosotros.
Y con tu espíritu.

Elevad vuestros corazones.
Los elevamos al Señor.

Demos gracias a Dios nuestro Señor.

Mi Corazon te sabe decir: santo eres Señor.

Holy, holy, holy, my heart, my heart adores you!
My heart is glad to say the words:
you are holy, Lord.

Y aunque, por nuestros muchos pecados, somos indignos de ofrecerte sacrificio alguno; sin embargo te suplicamos aceptes éste nuestro deber y servicio obligatorio, no pesando nuestros méritos, sino perdonando nuestras ofensas, mediante Jesucristo nuestro Señor;

It is very meet, right, and our bounden duty, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks unto thee, O Lord, holy Father, almighty, everlasting God.

Because thou didst send thy beloved Son to redeem us from sin and death, and to make us heirs in him of everlasting life; that when he shall come again in power and great triumph to judge the world, we may without shame or fear rejoice to behold his appearing.

Therefore with Angels and Archangels, and with all the company of heaven, we laud and magnify thy glorious Name; evermore praising thee, and saying,

Santo, santo, santo, mi corazon te adora!
Mi Corazon te sabe decir: santo eres Señor.

Holy, holy, holy, my heart, my heart adores you!
My heart is glad to say the words:
you are holy, Lord.

All glory be to thee, Almighty God, our heavenly Father, for that thou, of thy tender mercy, didst give thine only Son Jesus Christ to suffer death upon the cross for our redemption; who made there, by his one oblation of himself once offered, a full, perfect, and sufficient sacrifice, oblation, and satisfaction, for the sins of the whole world; and did institute, and in his holy Gospel command us to continue, a perpetual memory of that his precious death and sacrifice, until his coming again.

For in the night in which he was betrayed, he took bread; and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take, eat, this is my Body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”

Likewise, after supper, he took the cup; and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink ye all of this; for this is my Blood of the New Testament, which is shed for you, and for many, for the remission of sins. Do this, as oft as ye shall drink it, in remembrance of me.”

Wherefore, O Lord and heavenly Father, according to the institution of thy dearly beloved Son our Savior Jesus Christ, we, thy humble servants, do celebrate and make here before thy divine Majesty, with these thy holy gifts, which we now offer unto thee, the memorial thy Son hath commanded us to make; having in remembrance his blessed passion and precious death, his mighty resurrection and glorious ascension; rendering unto thee most hearty thanks for the innumerable benefits procured unto us by the same.

And we most humbly beseech thee, O merciful Father, to hear us; and, of thy almighty goodness, vouchsafe to bless and sanctify, with thy Word and Holy Spirit, these thy gifts and creatures of bread and wine; that we, receiving them according to thy Son our Savior Jesus Christ’s holy institution, in remembrance of his death and passion, may be partakers of his most blessed Body and Blood.

And we earnestly desire thy fatherly goodness mercifully to accept this our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving; most humbly beseeching thee to grant that, by the merits and death of thy Son Jesus Christ, and through faith in his blood, we, and all thy whole Church, may obtain remission of our sins, and all other benefits of his passion.

And here we offer and present unto thee, O Lord, our selves, our souls and bodies, to be a reasonable, holy, and living sacrifice unto thee; humbly beseeching thee that we, and all others who shall be partakers of this Holy Communion, may worthily receive the most precious Body and Blood of thy Son Jesus Christ, be filled with thy grace and heavenly benediction, and made one body with him, that he may dwell in us, and we in him.

And although we are unworthy, through our manifold sins, to offer unto thee any sacrifice, yet we beseech thee to accept this our bounden duty and service, not weighing our merits, but pardoning our offenses, through Jesus Christ our Lord;

By whom, and with whom, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, all honor and glory be unto thee, O Father Almighty, world without end.

Amen.

And now, as our Savior Christ hath taught us, we are bold to say,

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory, for ever and ever.

Amen.

THE BREAKING OF THE BREAD

A period of silence is kept.

Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us;
Therefore let us keep the feast.

Cordero de Dios cordero de Dios,
que quitas el pecado del mundo,
ten piedad de nosotros.

Cordero de Dios, cordero de Dios,
que quitas el pecado del mundo,
ten misericordia de nosotros.

Cordero de Dios, cordero de Dios,
que quitas el pecado del mundo,
danos tu paz.

We do not presume to come to this thy Table, O merciful Lord, trusting in our own righteousness, but in thy manifold and great mercies. We are not worthy so much as to gather up the crumbs under thy Table. But thou art the same Lord whose property is always to have mercy. Grant us therefore, gracious Lord, so to eat the flesh of thy dear Son Jesus Christ, and to drink his blood, that we may evermore dwell in him, and he in us.

Amen.

The Gifts of God for the People of God.

INVITATION TO SPIRITUAL COMMUNION

Jesus, I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen.

COMMUNION SOLO:
“I Want Jesus To Walk With Me”

•••

Let us pray.

Almighty and ever living God,
we most heartily thank thee
for that thou dost feed us,
in these holy mysteries,
with the spiritual food
of the most precious Body and Blood
of thy Son our Savior Jesus Christ;
and dost assure us thereby of thy favor
and goodness towards us;
and that we are very members incorporate
in the mystical body of thy Son,
the blessed company of all faithful people;
and are also heirs, through hope,
of thy everlasting kingdom.
And we humbly beseech thee,
O heavenly Father,
so to assist us with thy grace,
that we may continue in that holy fellowship, and do all such good works
as thou hast prepared for us to walk in; through Jesus Christ our Lord,
to whom, with thee and the Holy Ghost,
be all honor and glory, world without end.

Amen.

•••

PRAYER OVER THE PEOPLE

Bow down before the Lord.

Almighty God, we pray you graciously to behold this your family, for whom our Lord Jesus Christ was willing to be betrayed, and given into the hands of sinners, and to suffer death upon the cross; who lives and reigns for ever and ever.

Amen.

THE DISMISSAL

Let us go forth in the name of Christ.
Thanks be to God.

PROCESIÓN AL
JARDÍN DEL REPOSO

HIMNO:
“Sing My Tongue, The Glorious Battle”

 Sing, my tongue, the glorious battle;
of the mighty conflict sing;
tell the triumph of the Victim,
to His cross thy tribute bring.
Jesus Christ, the world’s Redeemer
from that cross now reigns as King.

Thirty years among us dwelling,
His appointed time fulfilled,
born for this, He meets His passion,
this the Savior freely willed:
on the cross the Lamb is lifted,
where His precious Blood is spilled.

He endures the nails, the spitting,
vinegar, and spear, and reed;
from that holy Body broken
blood and water forth proceed:
earth and stars, and sky, and ocean,
by that Flood from stain are freed.

Faithful cross! above all other,
one and only noble tree!
None in foliage, none in blossom,
none in fruit thy peer may be:
sweetest woods and sweetest iron!
sweetest Weight is hung on thee.

Bend thy thoughts, O tree of glory!
thy relaxing sinews bend;
for awhile the ancient rigor
that thy birth bestowed, suspend;
and the King of heav’nly beauty
gently on thy arms extend.

Praise and honor to the Father,
praise and honor to the Son,
praise and honor to the Spirit,
ever Three and ever One:
one in might and one in glory
while eternal ages run.

SALMO 22

Dios mío, Dios mío,
¿Por qué me has desamparado? *

Me rodean muchos novillos; *
fuertes toros de Bazán me circundan.

Abren sobre mí las bocas, *
como león rapante y rugiente.

Soy derramado como aguas;
todos mis huesos se descoyuntan; *
mi corazón, como cera,
se derrite en mis entrañas.

Como un tiesto está seca mi boca;
mi lengua se pega al paladar; *
y me has puesto en el polvo de la muerte;

Porque jaurías de perros me rodean,
y pandillas de malignos me cercan; *
horadan mis manos y mis pies;
contar puedo todos mis huesos.

Me miran de hito en hito,
y con satisfacción maligna; *
reparten entre sí mis vestidos;
sobre mi ropa echan suertes.

Mas tú, oh Señor, no te alejes; *
fortaleza mía, apresúrate a socorrerme.

Proclamaré tu Nombre a mis hermanos; *
en medio de la congregación te alabaré.

Los que temen al Señor, alábenle; *
glorifíquenle, oh vástago de Jacob;
tengan miedo de él, oh descendencia de Israel;

Mateo 26:26-30

Silencio.

PSALM 22

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? *
and are so far from my cry
and from the words of my distress?

O my God, I cry in the daytime,
but you do not answer; *
by night as well, but I find no rest.

Yet you are the Holy One, *
enthroned upon the praises of Israel.

Our forefathers put their trust in you; *
they trusted, and you delivered them.

They cried out to you and were delivered; *
they trusted in you and were not put to shame.

But as for me, I am a worm and no man, *
scorned by all and despised by the people.

All who see me laugh me to scorn; *
they curl their lips and wag their heads, saying,

"He trusted in the LORD; let him deliver him; *
let him rescue him, if he delights in him."

Yet you are he who took me out of the womb, *
and kept me safe upon my mother's breast.

I have been entrusted to you
ever since I was born; *
you were my God
when I was still in my mother's womb.

Be not far from me, for trouble is near, *
and there is none to help.

Many young bulls encircle me; *
strong bulls of Bashan surround me.

They open wide their jaws at me, *
like a ravening and a roaring lion.

I am poured out like water;
all my bones are out of joint; *
my heart within my breast is melting wax.

My mouth is dried out like a pot-sherd;
my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth; *
and you have laid me in the dust of the grave.

Packs of dogs close me in,
and gangs of evildoers circle around me; *
they pierce my hands and my feet;
I can count all my bones.

They stare and gloat over me; *
they divide my garments among them;
they cast lots for my clothing.

Be not far away, O LORD; *
you are my strength; hasten to help me.

Save me from the sword, *
my life from the power of the dog.

Save me from the lion's mouth, *
my wretched body from the horns of wild bulls.

I will declare your Name to my brethren; *
in the midst of the congregation I will praise you.

Praise the LORD, you that fear him; *
stand in awe of him, O offspring of Israel;
all you of Jacob's line, give glory.

For he does not despise
nor abhor the poor in their poverty;
neither does he hide his face from them; *
but when they cry to him he hears them.

My praise is of him in the great assembly; *
I will perform my vows
in the presence of those who worship him.

The poor shall eat and be satisfied,
and those who seek the LORD shall praise him:*
"May your heart live for ever!"

All the ends of the earth
shall remember and turn to the LORD, *
and all the families of the nations bow before him.

For kingship belongs to the LORD; *
he rules over the nations.

To him alone all who sleep in the earth
bow down in worship; *
all who go down to the dust fall before him.

My soul shall live for him;
my descendants shall serve him; *
they shall be known as the LORD'S for ever.

They shall come
and make known to a people yet unborn *
the saving deeds that he has done.

THE INSTITUTION
OF THE LORD’S SUPPER

Matthew 26:26-30

While they were eating, Jesus took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to the disciples, and said, ‘Take, eat; this is my body.’ Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he gave it to them, saying, ‘Drink from it, all of you; for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

I tell you, I will never again drink of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.’

When they had sung the hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

Silence.
