Fr. Luis Gomez was born on June 24, 1964 in Gualaceo, Ecuador. He has two brothers and one sister. He graduated high school June, 1982 from “Orientalista Salesiano” located in Cuenca, Ecuador and then attended Mayor Seminary “San Jose” in Quito, Ecuador where he studied philosophy. In 1985, he attended Mayor Seminary “San Leon Magno” Cuenca, Ecuador where he studied theology. In 1987, he received his Minor Orders at the Cathedral of the Inmaculada in the Roman Catholic Church.
In 1988, he emigrated from Ecuador to New York. In 1989, he became a member of the Episcopal Church of Saint Matthew and Saint Timothy. In1995, he married Ms. Carmen Hajal, and they have a son George. In 2003, he began his studies at General Theological Seminary and at Empire State College. In 2009, he earned a Bachelor of Science at Empire State College. On March 13, 2010, he was ordained as Transitional Deacon, and in June, 2010, he earned his Masters of Divinity from General Theological Seminary. He was ordained a Priest on September 25, 2010. In 2011, he completed studies in Continuing Professional Education (C.P.E.), became a Chaplain at Calvary Hospital and began working as Assistant Priest at Holyrood Church in Manhattan. In 2012, he became an Associate Priest at Holy Apostles Church, and on June 30, 2013, he began working as an Assistant Priest at the Church of the Intercession.
