Oh Dios de gracia y de gloria, recordamos hoy en tu presencia a nuestro hermano, Diego Delgado. Te damos gracias porque nos lo diste, a su familia y amigos, para conocerle y amarle como compañero de nuestra peregrinación terrenal. En tu ilimitada compasión consuela a los que lloramos. Danos fe para que en la muerte veamos el umbral de la vida eterna, a fin de que con tranquila confianza continuemos nuestro caminar en la tierra hasta que, por tu llamado, nos reunamos con aquéllos que partieron antes; por Jesucristo nuestro Señor, que vive y reina contigo y el Espíritu Santo, un solo Dios, por los siglos de los siglos.

AMÉN.

Dios de toda misericordia, cuya sabiduría sobrepasa nuestro entendimiento, atiende con benignidad a la familia de Dulce Delgado. En su pesar. Abrázales con tu amor para que no se sientan abrumados por su pérdida, sino que tengan confianza en tu bondad y hagan frente con valor a los días por venir; por Jesucristo nuestro Señor.

O God of grace and glory, we remember before you this day our brother, Diego Delgado. We thank you for giving him to us, his family and friends, to know and to love as a companion on our earthly pilgrimage. In your boundless compassion, console us who mourn. Give us faith to see in death the gate of eternal life, so that in quiet confidence we may continue our course on earth, until, by your call, we are reunited with those who have gone before; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

AMEN.

Most merciful God, whose wisdom is beyond our understanding, deal graciously with Dulce Delgado and Diego’s family in their grief. Surround them with your love, that they may not be overwhelmed by their loss, but have confidence in your goodness, and strength to meet the days to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Primera Lectura
Sabiduría 3:1-5,9

Lectura del Libro de Sabiduría.

Las almas de los justos están en las manos de Dios y ningún tormento podrá alcanzarlos. A los ojos de los insensatos están bien muertos y su partida parece una derrota. Nos abandonaron: parece que nada quedó de ellos. Pero, en realidad, entraron en la paz. Aunque los hombres hayan visto en eso un castigo, allí estaba la vida inmortal para sostener su esperanza: después de una corta prueba recibirán grandes recompensas. Sí, Dios los puso a prueba y los encontró dignos de él. Los que confiaron en él conocerán la verdad, los que fueron fieles en el amor permanecerán junto a él.

The souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment will ever touch them. In the eyes of the foolish they seemed to have died, and their departure was thought to be a disaster, and their going from us to be their destruction; but they are at peace. For though in the sight of others they were punished, their hope is full of immortality. Having been disciplined a little, they will receive great good, because God tested them and found them worthy of himself; those who trust in him will understand truth, and the faithful will abide with him in love, because grace and mercy are upon his holy ones, and he watches over his elect.

Después de esto vi un gentío inmenso, imposible de contar, de toda nación y raza, pueblo y lengua, que estaban de pie delante del trono y del Cordero, vestidos con vestiduras blancas y con palmas en sus manos, y gritaban con voz poderosa: «¿Quién salva fuera de nuestro Dios que se sienta en el trono, y del Cordero?» Todos los ángeles estaban de pie alrededor del trono, de los Ancianos y de los cuatro Seres Vivientes; se postraron ante el trono rostro en tierra y adoraron a Dios, diciendo: ¡Amén! Alabanza, gloria, sabiduría, acción de gracias, honor, poder y fuerza a nuestro Dios por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.

Uno de los Ancianos tomó la palabra y me dijo: «Esos que están vestidos con vestiduras blancas, ¿quiénes son y de dónde vienen?» Yo contesté: «Señor, tú lo sabes.» El Anciano me replicó: «Esos son los que vienen de la gran persecución; han lavado y blanqueado sus vestiduras con la sangre del Cordero. Por eso están ante el trono de Dios y le sirven día y noche en su templo; el que está sentado en el trono extenderá su tienda sobre ellos; ya no sufrirán más hambre ni sed ni se verán agobiados por el sol ni por viento abrasador alguno, porque el Cordero que está junto al trono será su pastor y los guiará a los manantiales de las aguas de la vida, y Dios enjugará las lágrimas de sus ojos.

Revelation 7:9-17

After this I looked, and there was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, robed in white, with palm branches in their hands. They cried out in a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!” And all the angels stood around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, singing, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”

Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, “Who are these, robed in white, and where have they come throne will shelter them. They will hunger no more, and thirst no more; the sun will not strike them, nor any scorching heat; for the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of the water of life, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

Marta respondió: «Ya sé que será resucitado en la resurrección de los muertos, en el último día.»

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

She said to him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, the one coming into the world.”

EL CREDO NICENO

Con la certeza de la vida eterna que se nos ha dado en el Bautismo, proclamemos nuestra fe, diciendo:

Creo en Dios Padre todopoderoso,
creador del cielo y de la tierra.

Creo en Jesucristo, su único Hijo, nuestro Señor.
Fue concebido por obra y gracia del Espíritu Santo y nació de la Virgen María.
Padeció bajo el poder de Poncio Pilato.
Fue crucificado, muerto y sepultado.
Descendió a los infiernos.
Al tercer día resucitó de entre los muertos.
Subió a los cielos,
y está sentado a la diestra de Dios Padre.
Desde allí ha de venir a juzgar
a vivos y muertos.

Creo en el Espíritu Santo,
la santa Iglesia católica,
la comunión de los santos,
el perdón de los pecados,

The apostles’ CREED

In the assurance of eternal life given at Baptism, let us proclaim our faith and say,

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge

Prayers of the People

For our brother Diego, let us pray to our Lord Jesus Christ who said, “I am Resurrection
and I am Life.”

Lord, you consoled Martha and Mary in their distress; draw near to us who mourn for Diego, and dry the tears of those who weep.
Hear us, Lord.

You wept at the grave of Lazarus, your friend;
comfort us in our sorrow.
Hear us, Lord.

You raised the dead to life;
give to our brother Diego eternal life.
Hear us, Lord.

You promised paradise to the thief who repented;
bring our brother Diego to the joys of heaven.
Hear us, Lord.

Our brother Diego was washed in Baptism
and anointed with the Holy Spirit;
give him fellowship with all your saints.
