CAROL SING
Christmas Eve 2020

It Came Upon A Midnight Clear
It came upon the midnight clear
that glorious song of old
from angels bending near the earth
to touch their harps of gold
“Peace on the earth, good will to men
from heaven's all-gracious King.”
The world in solemn stillness lay
to hear the angels sing.
Still through the cloven skies they come
with peaceful wings unfurled,
and still their heavenly music floats
o’er all the weary world;
above its sad and lowly plains
they on hovering wing,
and ever o’er its Babel-sounds
the blessed angels sing.

Venid, venid, zagales,
Venid, venid, zagales,
Pastores de Belén,
Venid, cantad la gloria
De Cristo, nuestro bien.
Los angeles pregonan
La gloria del Señor,
Y paz a los mortales
De voluntad y amor.
La humana vestidura
Encubre el inmortal,
Que va a pagar la deuda
Al Padre celestial.
El viene a redimirnos;
El viene a padecer,
Para acercar al hombre
Al infinito Ser.
¡Amor inexplicable!
¡Sublime abnegación
De aquél que en un pesebre
Nos da su bendición!
Unid, pues, vuestras voces,
Viadores al Edén;
Venid, cantad la gloria
De Cristo, nuestro bien.

O Little Town of Bethlehem
O little town of Bethlehem,
how still we see the lie!
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
the silent stars go by;
yet in thy dark streets shineth
the everlasting Light;
the hopes and fears of all the years
are met in thee to-night.
For Christ is born of Mary,
and gathered all above,
while mortals sleep, the angels keep
their watch of wondering love.
O morning stars, together
proclaim the holy birth!
and praises sing to God the King,
and peace to men on earth.
How silently, how silently,
the wondrous gift is given!
So God imparts to human hearts
the blessings of his heaven.
No ear may hear his coming,
but in this world of sin,
where meek souls will receive him, still
the dear Christ enters in.

¡Oh santísimo, felicísimo
¡Oh santísimo, felicísimo,
Grato tiempo de Navidad!
Pues el Padre por su Hijo
Su perdón y luz nos da;
Cristo el prometido
Ha por fin venido:
¡Alegría, alegría, cristiandad!
¡Oh santísimo, felicísimo,
Grato tiempo de Navidad!
Pues tenemos ya el camino
De la vida celestial;
Al mundo perdido,
Cristo le ha nacido:
¡Alegría, alegría, cristiandad!
¡Oh santísimo, felicísimo,
Grato tiempo de Navidad!
Pues los ángeles, con sus himnos,
Nos anuncian dicha y paz;
Coros celestiales
Oyen los mortales:
¡Alegría, alegría, cristiandad!
¡Oh santísimo, felicísimo,
Grato tiempo de Navidad!
Pues en él nos vino Cristo
Para darnos la verdad;
Tan dichosa nueva
Al mortal conmueva:
¡Alegría, alegría, cristiandad!
¡Oh santísimo, felicísimo,
Grato tiempo de Navidad!
Pues, por siempre, Jesucristo,
Nuestro Dios y rey será,
Príncipe del cielo,
Danos tu consuelo,
¡Alegría, alegría, cristiandad!

God Rest You, Merry Gentlemen
God rest you merry, gentlemen,
let nothing you dismay,
remember Christ our Savior
was born on Christmas Day;
to save us all from Satan's power
when we were gone astray.
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy,
O tidings of comfort and joy!
From God our heavenly Father
a blessed angel came;
and unto certain shepherds
brought tiding of the same;
how that in Bethlehem was born
the Son of God by name.
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy,
O tidings of comfort and joy!
"Fear not, then," said the angel,
"Let nothing you affright;
this day is born a Savior
of a pure virgin bright,
to free all those who trust in him
from Satan's power and might."
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy,
O tidings of comfort and joy!
Now to the Lord sing praises,
all you within this place,
and with true love and charity
each other now embrace;
this holy tide of Christmas
doth bring redeeming grace.
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy,
O tidings of comfort and joy!
